A Letter to You, From LEagler’s Founder
If you are reading this, welcome to our website. This is my letter to you. My name is Judia, and I am the founder of LEagler.
LEagler is not just my story, it’s the story of countless young people who leave everything behind to start over in Canada.
In 2018, I was one of them. I arrived with nothing familiar, only hope for a better future. A year later, I graduated high school, only to face the same challenges many newcomers know too well—limited opportunities, low confidence, and the painful reality of not being able to pursue higher education right away because of my status as an asylum seeker.
But I made a choice. Instead of letting obstacles define me, I shifted my focus to possibilities. I embraced self-growth, leaned into resilience, and learned to see every challenge as a stepping stone.
Along the way, I met so many others, bright students, skilled professionals, and ambitious youths, who were walking a path just like mine. Their stories carried the same resilience, the same fire. And I realized: none of us should walk this journey alone.
That is why in 2024, LEagler was born.
LEagler is a non-profit built by immigrants, for immigrants. We exist to help young professionals and newcomers step into their new community with confidence. We offer mentorship, resources, and most importantly, a community, a place where leadership and growth are not just encouraged, but lived.
Because I believe this deeply: every immigrant carries a story that matters, and a strength that any country needs.
Through LEagler, my team and I are working to turn barriers into bridges and challenges into opportunities so that together, we can build a future where immigrants are not only surviving but thriving as vital contributors to the social and economic fabric of this country.
